The Casa Murina hotel is located in Porto-Pollo, in the heart of South Corsica and allows you to move around a large number of major sites of this department.
In the heart of Alta Rocca, about two hours drive from Porto-Pollo, the natural ensemble formed by the Needles of Bavella is one of the most beautiful geological curiosities of the island. Culminating at more than 1855 meters of altitude, it is a vast rocky wall composed of jagged peaks alternately swept by shades of light red, white gray, and orange spots according to the intensity of the light. This natural wonder presents a splendid contrast with the intense green of the pine forest at its feet. To take the measure, you must go to the top of the Bavella Pass, which also provides a breathtaking view of the sea, or even the island of Monte Cristo in good weather. The Bavella Pass is also famous for the presence of the statue of Our Lady of the Snows, which is celebrated in religious fervor every first Sunday of August, through a procession.
Needles of Bavella is the penultimate stage of the GR20 South. The surrounding villages of Bavella and Zonza are also the starting points for many hikes.
